Exploring the SBS Financials Suite - G/L
General Ledger assembles information that reflects the financial position of your company. Our G/L helps you to maintain accounting controls and instantly access the financial data needed to successfully manage company performance. Robust financial reporting includes flexible drill-down queries and the ability to customize financial reports on the fly. The general ledger supports a broad range of organizational structures – from a single company to corporations with multiple EINs, operating groups, and profit centers.
Flexible account numbers
Our system is designed to be robust and flexible. It's that power and flexibility that makes it easy for nearly any organization to tailor it to the way they do business. For example, our account number structure is flexible. You may want fewer or more characters in your account codes. You may prefer to have the main account first and entity next - or you might want the entity first and the main next. We can support whichever approach works best for your company. We'll also review your current account number structure (and your Chart of Accounts) as part of the data migration process. As a result, we may recommend changes that could help you operate more efficiently going forward.
Actual, budget, and statistics
Actual, budget, and statistical information is easy to access in our software so there's no need for third-party add-ons. If, for example, you want to:
- View this month's actuals, or
- See how a 5% revenue increase would impact next year's communications budget, or
- Track the changes in FTEs from Q1 to Q3,
…you could find your answers quickly and without leaving our G/L application.
Multiple companies
SBS is inherently a multi-company accounting system. You can view information by department, by division, or across the entire organization (security permitting). Multiple company processing with automatic inter- and intra-company balancing will save you time and improve reporting accuracy.
Prior and future postings
Prior and future period postings are supported and automatically controlled within our system.
Recurring entries
The recurring entries program allows you to automate entries that occur on a regular basis. They can be:
- Automatically generated when a new period is opened as part of the Close Month process
- Generated upon request at any time during a period
- Copied into an entry as it is entered manually
Allocations
The ability to allocate revenues, expenses, statistics, and budgets is included in our system.
Closing schedule
The closing schedule keep the process on track and lets you know which tasks still need to be completed. It organizes the closing process, provides visibility of the process, and allows comparisons to prior closings.
Account types
Account types allow you to control where specific G/L accounts may be used.
Multiple accounting periods
Multiple accounting periods may be open simultaneously while working in our system.
Drill-down queries
Detailed information is always just a click or two away. Drill down capabilities are ubiquitous in our system. For example, if you want to know what makes up a number on a financial report, click on it. When you highlight the distribution, you'll see a brief summary of the transaction. Want to see supporting documents? Click on the image button to view them.

- AP invoices
- Budgets

- 1099 information
- Vendor files
