The Critical Access Hospital (CAH) in Enterprise, OR, Wallowa Memorial Hospital, has been recognized as a Top 100 performer in the Hospital Strength INDEX and ranked in the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals for 2017. Wallowa Hospital uses the full complement of SBS financials software.
Wallowa Memorial is among the 1,300 CAH ranked annually in the iVantage Hospital Strength INDEX, a comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Data is compiled from 50 metrics into three categories and 8 pillars. The Top 100 hospitals are announced each spring.
The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) uses two of the INDEX metrics to identify its Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals. Wallowa Memorial made the cut as one of the 20 overall winners while 40 other hospitals were recognized as best practice recipients. NRHA honors its award winners at a Fall conference.
Wallowa Memorial Hospital is powered by SBS cloud accounting software. “We needed an affordable suite of applications that could handle our hospital’s specific accounting needs. The software also had to work with Epic, our new Electronic Health Records (EHR) system,” said Joe Wanner, Wallowa’s Chief Financial Officer. “The SBS Financials, Payroll and HR, and Procurement suites were powerful, yet used a simple process that let us tailor the system to the way we work.”
