Controllers race to year-end deadline to complete employee W2 forms
Our company works in targeted vertical markets and has many long-time customers. Over the years, this has created friendly competitions among those who use SBS financial software to process their W2 forms, explained Robin, one of our product managers.
"Good morning," the customer email began. "I neglected to let you know know that we completed and tied in our W2 forms for all five companies on 12/26."
"Congratulations!" Robin responded, knowing the importance of the task and the completion date. She said this customer and another battle every year in a (virtual) dogfight to see which controller can win the year-end race to complete their employee W2 forms.
The winner generally alternates every year due to the quirks of the calendar. (Because the companies are on different payroll schedules, one has the data available sooner than the other. Thus, the competitive advantage.)
This year's winner was happy to acknowledge that she couldn't do it alone: "I give full credit to you guys for all your support and assistance through the years. SBS has been the best software company we have ever worked with! This is due to not only having an exceptional product, but more important, an exceptional support staff!"
